What you will learn in the DVD
The instruction begins with how to pull off showgirl posture and a sexy strut, invaluable skills life as well as in burlesque! You then learn wiggles, pin up poses and burlesque dance moves, plus some extremely useful striping and teasing skills. Oh and of course we cover the piece de resistance of any burlesque show – nipple tassel twirling! This is all then in fused together into a show stopping routine, which you will pick up surprisingly quickly.

The performance chapter is presented as a fabulous telephone conversation between Keda and The Grande Dame of Burlesque, Dolly Rocket. As the girls chat they give hugely useful advice for anyone starting out in burlesque on things like: routine building, music, how to make acts impressive and stage presence. And there are some extra special tips on doing a seductive burlesque dance in private!
Finally there is an in entertaining and informative discussion on the history of burlesque, delivered from the reading room by professor Breeze and Professor Bitz (AKA cabaret sensation Miss Ophelia Bitz). This talk begins with burlesque from its birth in an Aristophanes play in 4011bc, all the art forms that fed into it, such as tableaux vivant and other courtesanly enticements, to the great stars of the golden age of burlesque, and finally to its glorious modern renaissance. Not only does burlesque have a fascinating history, having an understanding of it will help give depth and contest to your performances.

Keda Breeze
As well as being an international star of the burlesque scene, Keda Breeze has is also a highly regarded tutor. She has empowered literally hundreds of women in her in inspirational burlesque and exotic dance classes. Her teaching skills have also been in demand in the media lately, recently Keda starred alongside Colleen Mcglouclin in an hour long ITV show, where she coached and tutored budding “real women” models; this will be aired in January.
Keda began her performance training at the acclaimed Circomedia circus school and since then has wowed audiences across the world with her spectacular acts. Her appearances include performing at Turkish Princess Ayse’s private party, for Kenny Jones of The Who, to Courts of the Justices where Princess Anne was amongst the guests. Other engagements range from TV appearances to cabarets such as Whoopee Club, Lost Vagueness and The Flash Monkey, to posing as a muse for Banksy!
Dolly Rocket
Dolly Rocket is an outstanding and versatile entertainer who has been wowing audiences around the world with her warmth, wit and glamour for over two decades!
Dolly has vast experience in her field and has enjoyed a varied career mostly as a night club variety artiste but also has worked as a model actress and singer. For the past few years she has been a popular host for Burlesque events notably hosting the very successful, The Flash Monkey at The Café De Paris, The Tassel Club in Dublin and Vavavoom Burlesque Brighton.
Ophelia Bitz
Miss Ophelia Bitz is one of the UK’s finest comic burlesque performers, and also one of the youngest performers on the British burlesque scene. Bitz is best known for her hands free cocktail shaking! But her repertoire also boasts appearing as a compare, radio presenter and writer. She has appeared with, Derren Brown, Tim Burton, The Dresden Dolls and pop star Mika. At Edinburgh Fringe this year her sell out show received 5 star reviews.
